Trauma Informed Yoga
This program is designed specifically for school-aged children, young adults, and adults who have experienced or are currently experiencing the effects of trauma and or addiction.

Our goal is to unite the body with the mind to create balance. Mental stress can, and will manifest itself into physical ailments. The core elements of yoga practice, such as breathwork, postures, meditation and nutrition, help equip youth with the coping skills to handle stress and trauma responses.
A trauma-informed yoga practice will strengthen the mind and body connection, helping to reduce overstimulation and reactivity and encourage relaxation. Yoga can help give people the power to reclaim control of their bodies, thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
Our methodology is to move the mind as well as the body. The body physically holds on to trauma, we must move trauma out of the mind to free the body of a self imposed prison.
If you are not in control of your mind and body, who is?
There are four groups available:

-
Littles Yoga - designed for elementary-aged children (kindergarten through fifth grade). Children learn how to express their emotions, where they feel them in their bodies, and how to calm down.
-
Middle School Yoga - designed for middle school-aged children (6th to 8th grade), who first engage in discussion, sharing highs and lows, and learning how their emotions manifest in their bodies.
-
High School-Young Adult - designed for adolescents 14-18. This is a deep dive into the emotional language of the physical body. Every bodily posture is an emotional expression of the current state of mind.
-
Adult TIY Group - designed for adults 18 and over. Specifically for adults in the throws of addiction. Existential literacy both in spoken form and physical expression.
